The Price of Crude Affects Many Industries

Recently, we've seen significant fluctuations in financial markets as crude oil prices bounced around:

While there are obviously many factors that can affect stock prices, and thus financial indices, it's interesting how the price of crude and the DJIA have been tracking as mirror images of each other since the Iran war began.

There are exceptions, of course, such as the last few days when financial markets surged on news that companies will be reimbursed for tariffs that they've paid. However, the trend is clear.
